What I'm Thankful For

11-25-08

“Tell me what you’re thankful for,” is what everyone always says around this time of the year. How many people actually take the time to think about what they/re thankful for, though? A lot of kids, and even some adults, don’t realize how much they should be thankful for. I’m most thankful for my family, friends, and a great life so far. I am thankful for my family most out of these things.

My family is always there for me. They help me whenever I need it, support me, and, most importantly, they love me. I remember when I didn’t understand my homework , my sister sat down and helped me until I understood it. I also remember when I was going to give up on my science project because it was too difficult, they encouraged me to keep trying. What I think is special about my family is we never leave the house without saying, “I love you,” to one another. My friends are definitely something I am grateful for as well.

My friends are always there to support me. They are like my big, extended family. I am blessed with such wonderful friends to surround me. When I am going through something they help me get through it , if I need help they help me, and if I just need someone to talk to, they are always there. I am also blessed with a fabulous life.

My life is definitely something that would be on anyone’s thankful t. I have so many great things going on in my life and so many amazing people to spend it with. I am so lucky to have a roof over my head because I know that there are people that don’t have any type of shelter to protect them from the elements. I am also very grateful for a spectacular education.

I’m very lucky and hope that others realize how lucky they are as well. I feel that everyone has something to be thankful for, just not everyone sees it in the same way because, of course, everyone lives a different life. I feel I am the luckiest person in the world because I have a family that loves me, friends who care about me, and I am living a life some people would kill to have. Whenever someone asks me what I’m thankful for, I think of these things because they’re not just what I’m thankful for, they are what make me who I am today.
